Danniah's Son-Rise Journey is a home-based Son-Rise Program® rooted in an attitude of love and acceptance. We use the approach outlined in the award-winning book and TV movie, Son-Rise, by Barry Neil Kaufman. As parents and directors of a program that uses the Option Process®, we have been trained to create a wonderfully nurturing and stimulating environment for our special child, to encourage a bonding that can help her be all that she can be.
As a volunteer, you will be trained in the child-centered methods of The Son-Rise Program® . As you become an integral team member in creating this nonjudgmental and fun environment, you will become an extended family member in our child’s life, while at the same time recharging your own sense of aliveness and well being.

Your Volunteer Training Includes:
- Specific instruction in methods of The Son-Rise Program to help special children.
- Hands-on learning while working individually with our child.
- Regular feedback sessions: These times are designed to help you analyze and understand your interactions with our child in order to help you become more effective in helping them grow.
- Being an integral part of Team Danniah: A key aspect of home-based programs, where we and all of our volunteers come together to share our excitement and experiences with our child, and to help design/redesign the ongoing focuses and content of the program. We have a dedicated password protected forum on this website for this purpose.
Harness your creativity and come have fun with us!
Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer! It is wonderful that you are considering supporting our family in this way. Your support will make such a difference in our lives!
We select volunteers who are enthusiastic about becoming happier as a lifestyle, who are interested in exploring themselves using the Option Process® Dialogue and who clearly make happiness a priority in their lives. No previous experience working with children with special needs is necessary, just the present desire to help our child and have fun.
We generally ask people who volunteer in our program to work a couple of hours per week and to attend a group meeting, where we discuss the exciting changes and progress of our child and together, learn ways we can improve and enhance ourselves. We also would like a long-term commitment of at least four to six months (or if you are doing an internship for UNH, the length of your internship requirement) because of the time that we will put into training you. In return, you will receive feedback to enable you to build your skills and attitude in your work with our child, along with dialogues that will help you learn to become happier and more comfortable. Since the basis of our work with our child is an attitude of love and acceptance, all of your training will be aimed at helping you to become more loving an accepting of yourself and others, which will impact all areas of your life. If you volunteer with us, we intend to support you in becoming all that you want for yourself. This program is a unique opportunity for all of us to grow and use our love to reach out and embrace this very special little person.

Need To Make Volunteering Official? Volunteer for a Non-Profit 501c3 Organization!
ASD Climber Foundation is an organization with a mission to help families of children with autism across the country find volunteers for their home-based Son-Rise autism therapy programs. They've worked with numerous high schools, colleges, and organizations across the country to connect volunteers with Son-Rise Program families.
ASD Climber Foundation helps recruit volunteers for the Son-Rise Program we are running for our 5 year old daughter Danniah. ASD Climber Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit corporation in California. Part of their main mission is to help families running their own home-based Son-Rise Programs. They've worked with numerous high schools, colleges, and organizations across the country to connect volunteers with Son-Rise Program families.
If you are interested in volunteering for an official 501c3 organization, you may officially volunteer for the ASD Climber Foundation and you will be assigned to volunteer in the Son-Rise Program for Danniah at our home in Exeter, NH. This means that your volunteer hours can be logged, and after your original commitment time has been fulfilled, ASD Climber Foundation can write you an official referral letter (and we will too!). Our partnership with ASD Climber Foundation is useful to students or people needing 501c3 volunteer hours and/or looking to work professionally in medical, education, social work, psychology or directly with special needs children.
