Treating autism is expensive especially when actively trying to help a child recover.
According to the medical community at large there is no cure for autism. Apparently the thousands of children now fully recovered from autism is not enough to prove that recovery is both possible and attainable. Many carefully controlled studies will need to be conducted before the mainstream medical community will acknowledge that autism is reversible.
For this and many other reasons, most states do not require medical insurance to cover treatments, therapies, evaluations, specimen tests, supplements, vitamins, nor medications used to treat autism. Thankfully, more and more states are putting legislation in place that will require this in the future. However, even if medical insurance begins to cover some of the costs of treating autism, most effective treatments (at least as within the autism community) are still considered "experimental" by the medical community at large. This means most treatments will still not be covered by medical insurance, even in the states requiring coverage. Furthermore, even in states requiring coverage, those with self-funded groups, Administrative Service Options and state Medicaid will still not be covered.
Because of funding challenges with medical insurance, public school systems or personal employment, many families must constantly change their child's doctors, occupational therapists, skills trainers, speech & language pathologists, supplements, medications and even the entire format of their overall therapeutic programs. As you could imagine, this can dramatically affect the child's progress, self-esteem, sense of security, and overall happiness.
By utilizing the Son-Rise Program in our home, we can assure ourselves that Danniah’s program and play partners will never change because of something out of our control such as lack of funding. The Son-Rise Program is an ongoing, ever-evolving program. It is a work in progress. For this reason our program will need to be periodically evaluated by a Son-Rise professional to ensure that we maximize the impact of our program. We are constantly giving each other feedback as we evolve. We are constantly evaluating, designing, and re-designing our goals and our progress as a team. As directors of our program, we want to continue to improve and help Danniah in the best possible way. To do this we need regular feedback and consultations with the Autism Treatment Center of America staff and child facilitators, to ensure that we are continually raising the bar to playfully challenge Danniah's development and guiding our volunteers with the proper tools and feedback. We want to take the advanced Son-Rise courses, schedule consultations with the Autism Treatment Center of America and also continue to supply new materials and toys for Danniah.'s continually evolving Son-Rise Playroom.

We have already seen amazing progress with Son-Rise
In our hearts we know that we have been led to this program for a reason, and we believe that it will help unlock Danniah's full potential. Even before implementing a formal program we've saw amazing progress. Within a week of coming home from Start-Up, Danniah went from making single word requests to requesting in four and five word sentences. We were so accustomed to hearing her say things like, "juice" "outside" and "swing" that it was a most amazing blessing to hear her enthusiastically say, "I want more birthdays! Let's go other room!" at her birthday party just a short time after attending Start-Up. She is happier and more flexible. She uses her imagination, plays dress up and loves to sing and dance with gusto.
